Post-Decision phone call from DWP was created by CateCrafts
I wonder if anyone has had the experience of receiving a phone call from DWP following a tribunal hearing...? At first it sounded as if it was some sort of survey being conducted but the caller didn't seem to be using a script. I was confused, became upset and the call was brought to an end by the DWP...

What did they ask?

Firstly whether the DWP representative introduced herself or whether it was the judge who did so. Then a question about 'further evidence'. I was fairly sure I hadn't taken any but struggled to remember correctly and asked if they would please contact my advocate as she would be certain to answer correctly. I have wondered if they are considering making a counter-appeal... something I read in the decision letter caused me to think about it on the appeal day. The DWP representative conceded before even any questions were asked at the hearing.

It does actually sound as if they were asking you to evaluate the performance of the DWP representative but it doesn't sound as if it is something that will effect the result of your appeal.

That's reassuring; many thanks. The appeal was a month ago and I had been meaning since then, to post a very grateful thanks for all the guides and information on here. Imagine my shock when I took the call. I understand it's not without precedent that the DWP can sometimes decide to appeal the judge's decision but I went from zero points at WCA, back into Support Group, all the arrears has been paid into my bank and the fortnightly payments appear to have begun again. Hopefully that's sufficient for DWP now - decision letter recommends 24 months grace before reassessment. I will post a feedback next time I'm online... You guys are a lifeline and I will continue to spread the word about Benefits and Work!

Congratulations on the award and well done.

If you have received payment of the Tribunal Decision then you are very much past the time when the DWP can challenge the Decision.
