Just received copy of home medical assessment and I appear to have scored 8 points daily living and 12 for mobility, I am still waiting for the written award confirmation letter. I just wondered if you could answer a question for me, Can the person reviewing the claim/report alter any of the health professionals award points. I’m not happy with a couple of the health professionals opinion or justification notes - failed to note I’m a virtual recluse cut off from siblings/friends etc and I don’t go out of the house unless it’s to go to the Gp or hospitals a d when I do I’m very anxious, get very distressed and am an emotional wreck until I get back home. I’m on a variety of medication for pain, depression etc I’m unable to pop my pills and my husband or daughter do this for me on a monthly basis and put into daily dosette boxes they also ring/text me to remind me to take my tablets (approx 30 tablets per day) and if needed additional Oramorph and diazepam. I have been awarded no points for the prompting from family or using a daily dosette box. Help!!
The DWP make the Decision so they can change the points awarded but it would be unusual for them to do this.
You can contact the DWP about your concerns with the report but neither of the issues that you raise will change the award that has been recommended so you may want to consider whether to do this or not.
