Resigning and contribution based ESA was created by Angela.86.me
To put you in the picture I have been off work sick since May 2017 due to an extreme relapse of my M.E. I started the process of applying for ESA at the end of October 2017 when my SSP stopped.
A few weeks ago I received my decision letter following a face to face medical interview in February 2018. My ESA claim was denied, this news has been devastating, I've been able to put together further evidence and have put in for an MR with a supporting letter from both my GP and my OT.

I have applied for contribution based ESA. I am still no better and don't see a point where I will be able to return to my job (even with adjustments etc due to its nature).
My question is: If I resign will this have an effect on my claim?

My employer is supportive and hasn't put any pressure on me at all, but I just know that I will not be able to return and this is causing me a lot of stress. With all that's going on I'd like to close that chapter really as I know me worrying about it is really affecting my health.

Resigning will not effect your ESA claim directly although it might effect your payments if you were still receiving any salary. However, please do not make any decision without getting face to face advice as you may be giving up rights that you may regret losing in the future. Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town, or county.
