Does ESA1 require medical support documents? was created by Catherine Constantinou
As the ESA1 application form only asks basic information about your conditions as it is not used as part of the assessment process, does it require medical support documents?
I am assuming ESA50 application form requires detailed information AND medical support documents?

The only medical information you need to provide with the ESA1 is a Fit Note, you will be able to explain your problems in detail when you receive the ESA50.

After sending off the ESA1 with a fit note, when will I receive the ESA50 / when do they require it back with all the medical evidence?

Thank you. I havent sent off the ESA1 yet.
I was inquiring about the usual length of time that it takes for the ESA50 to be sent after they receive the ESA1 application?
And how long they give you to complete the ESA50 ?

It used to be longer but I think it should now be sent three to four weeks after you start the claim, you will have four weeks to complete the form but this includes postage at either end of the time, there is no extension available for completing the ESA50.
