One thing that threw me a bit was that they asked did I want them to look at my DLA information as part of this PIP application. I said no. Not sure if I should have said yes or no.

The criteria for PIP is very different from that for DLA so it may not be applicable, also it may be old and therefore not carry much weight. There is also the issue of whether it will be looked at with the attention necessary.
If you think that it may be relevant then our advice is for you to include it with your PIP2, that way you can integrate the information into your answers on the form.

Hi Gordon,
The DLA assessment was February 2016. It did cover my mobility issues and not being able to walk for more than 20 meters and the help I need. Now that I have said no to the PIP person when they asked could they look at past DLA files should I now ring and say yes? Or should I include the many pages submitted with the DLA form with my new PIP form? As I said they could not look at previous DLA files would they just disregard this extra information?
Sorry for all the questions Gordon and many thanks for all your help.

It is always better if you include the evidence that way you can refer to it in your answers on the form.

Thank you Gordon
Should I also tell them they can look at my past DLA files?

There's no harm in asking.
