DLA to PIP ASSESMENT was created by digitalrace
Hello
I recently helped a friend to complete the PIP2 form(as part of a DLA to PIP assessment) using your guides. My friend rang the DWP to enquire about the progress of his claim and was told that he would have to have a medical assessment and was asked to make an appointment which he did. My friend (and I) would like to know if a formal letter from the DWP is required to arrange a medical or is it ok for a call centre worker to arrange a medical and issue an appointment? I also ask this because of the misleading information I was given from a call centre worker for my own claim which turned out to be successful and l wasn't called in for a face to face medical.
Kind regards

commited

Forgive me but I am a little confused :(

The DWP are not responsible for the PIP assessments and cannot book one for a claimant, so are you sure that it was the DWP and not IAS (formerly ATOS) or Capita?

If an assessment has now been booked then your friend has circumvented the normal process and the letters that would normally be sent, won't be now.
