Question about medical evidence for ESA50 was created by shd
With regard to the medical evidence for ESA50, I had requested my doctor to please provide a report on my medical condition, which she did. However, in her report she specifically said "This report is prepared with regard to this patient's Employment Support Allowance Assessment." She went on to later observe that my "capacity to work or engage in work related activity was very limited because of my disorder".
Is such specificity acceptable? I ask because the ESA50 form seems to advise on the topic of medical evidence NOT to ask for new information. I therefore wonder whether the fact that not only did I ask for medical evidence when I got my ESA50, but also that my doctor has specifically referred and addressed what the ESA50 seeks to address, would invalidate or diminish this piece of medical evidence.
Any advice regarding this would be much appreciated.

GP letters varies greatly- some are generic, and will just state condition, illnesses, medication and others go a step further and write in their opinion, based on their knowledge of you and your condition and your ability to engage with work related activity is limited. This is very specific and totally acceptable as a supporting letter for your WCA. In fact they are making a loose reference to regulation 35, which you may or may not be considering in presenting in your ESA50

In my Doctor's letter my GP said he "contested the decision to put me in the Work Related Activity Group" and that he "felt that I should be in the Support Group", stating his reasons. The Tribunal, in their Decision letter, stated that "the Tribunal placed particular reliance upon the evidence of the GP", and placed me in the Support Group. I included in my Submission a photocopy of my handwritten letter asking only that my GP provide evidence relating to my limited capability for work-related activity, and background on what ESA is and my upcoming Tribunal.
