Request for PIP review mandatory advice was created by theophilus9
My husband had his medical assessment for PIP review, went from enhanced mobility, and care to standard care only. Just received the assessment report, which he is asking for a Mandatory Reconsideration But really don't know how to argue the points, for instance she said can move around 50, but no more than 200. Yet in the discripteter at bottom of the page describes him as walking slow with daughter used crutch to assessment room 36 meters she said he stopped 3 times exspessing discomfort ? But only taking moderate pain relief? He is taking tramadol Another example and dressing stated he looked well kept in clean cloths? And not having specialist input even though he takes antidepressants for many years said So wouldn't need help. he is starting counseling 18 February we don't know how to appeal without contradicting her thanks

Contradicting the assessor's opinions is not usually successful but contradicting the facts on which those opinions are based can be successful, especially if you do this by reference to your evidence.
Are there any activities that your husband does that contradict the distance that he can walk? For example; does he go shopping with you?

Yes he doesn’t go out with out someone being with him. Mainly because of painful joints and because he gets paranoid that something is going to happen to him. He won’t change his clothes unless somebody encourages him to. But the nurse who did the assessment said he was dressed clean but that’s because of encouragement otherwise he would be dirty. He sat with his eyes closed through most of the assessment but she said he engaged well but in the observation section she wrote he had his eyes closed through most of the assessment so that is controversial but I don’t know how to word it in the mandatory reconsideration

Go back to the Descriptors to make sure you have shown that he meets the criteria to score points and then explain, as you have in your post why the assessor's opinions are not based on the facts of the situation.
