Added information for appeal was created by jackie
Good afternoon. Can you please tell me what I need to send in with my mandatory appeal?
i.e., should I send in hospital letters etc., or will I be asked for that information before the tribunal?
thanks very much for any and all help

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
What benefit is it for?
Do you mean the Mandatory Reconsideration or an appeal request to the Tribunal Service?
Have you requested a copy of the assessment report? You can do this by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim.

Hi Gorden.
Thanks very much for your reply.
I must apologise for not seeing this sooner, I have been wondering aimlessly around the website looking for my post. to be honest I am not too sure? I asked for a reconsideration via telephone, and was refused, so I am now appealing to the tribunal?
I only have a few days left to get the paper work off to them, and was wondering what I should send?
Thanks so much
Jackie

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.
Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
