Child Benefit and UC was created by Tinker765
Asking for a friend, My friend is on ESA and DLA in the support group, Him and his partner had a baby 2 months ago, He is not claiming any child benefit as he is worried he will be moved onto UC. My question here is if he claims Child benefit will he be forced onto UC?

Child Benefit is not one of the benefits that have been moved under Universal Credit so their existing benefits will not be affected.

Be aware Tax Credits and Child Tax Credits can only now be claimed via UC.
