Hi. Not sure if this has been discussed before. Would anyone known this question I have. I’m currently on income based ESA in support group. I have inherited over the £16,000 threshold and shall have to come off benefits. I have now paid up my shortfall of NI contribution to allow me a full state pension in three years time. I’m 63 now. I will at some stage have to apply again when my money runs out and would like clarification that I would then be put into the ESA contribution benefit instead of income based?
I'm sorry but the NI Contributions that you need can only be acquired through your work, the ones that you have paid for only count towards your Pension.
