hi there got 2 points for pip f2f. asked for assessors report- so shoked- it is full of mistakes/inacuracies. eg keeps saying family callme daily to prmpt me when itold him i barely ever speak to my sisters/family as they are all so busy- main issues - i told the truth- am unable to go ot more than1 or 2 days a week max- i only bath once or twice a week when i hve to g o out to shop sit in my noghtie for at least 5days a week normaly 6- and cannot cook a meal from fresh live of microwave dinners sandwidges becuse of cronic fatigue depression ptsd medication effects cant read vereyday becuse of mental exhuastion cannt socialise many days a week due to extreme anxity and exhustion etc etc at the face to face i cried at least 2 or 3 times- was v tense and exhusted but he has put in report that 'coped well at interview showed no signs of mental distress did not look tired and 'no mental disress noted' did not look tired ' had adaquate general memory and consetration' had my sister with me for suppport -and the asssor was very friendly seemed understanding and was a psychiatric nurse who seemed to understand- when i burst into tears telling him how my ptsd feels etc- i was able to hold it together during interview becase i had my sis for support and wanted to do my best to answer as best i could and get through the interview- afterwards i had a big panic attack and cried. but bsically becuse the assesor has said is hoed no cognitive impairment' and things like cooking put 'IO showed no anxiety or mental distress noted during interveiw indicating there she is not functionally restricted by her mental health . keeps saying basically becusei didnt show signs of mental distress ( which i did cried at least 2 or 3 times) hes put i can baisclaly do everything i genuinely cant do on most days . i am soo heat broken because i ws telling the truth- i toldhim i have good and bad daays- just becuse i got through the interview withput haaving a panic attack - and was able to answer the questions- althou some took me a long time- i was flat out for severl days after with exhustioon. my question s- can i ask for mandotory reconsideraton? i feel i need to on point of princible becuse i was very distressed at parts of the interview and i genuinely cant do things- my gp reporthad not come by the time the assessment was done i neeed to go with passport and wait up to 28 days to get copy- so i dont know exactly what my gp put but i knoe he will have supported me. it seems soo unfare that becuse i had an interview where i cried but could answr the questiions i can suddenly g out every day- bath every day cook everyday foloow a jouney everyday etc when it hust isnt true. he put i take anti psychotic pills to manage impulse behaviour but they were prescibed for severe anxiety i aso take diazapam fr panic attacks i have regularly and zopclone to hlep me sleep. the other issue i spoke to him about is that the metal ealth team will not help me becuse i had an aassessment about 3 years ago saying my ptsd is NOT treatable and i have had lots of counselling /therapy with thein the past- he sights a reason thre is no proof of depression is lack of imput/recent evedence formmental health team since 2017- but when i call them they wont help and i have no money for private therapy plus my agoraphobialmakes it ve difficult to make weekly appointments. its so heatbreaking when m life is so limited and misarable and becuse he thinks i did a good interview- all the other days im at home in my nighti not washing unable t o out etc cany be true. i want to make it clear his mistakes re menot being deostressed an dfamily calling - whatdo i need to ask for mandotory reconsidoration???? i gto 2 points for my incontinence prob beciuse as f2f went on for over an hour i had to run to the toilet!!!!! if i hadnt i suspect he would have said i wasnt incontinent too. do you have other similar incidents of folk being told becuse they seemed to be able to conduct good interveiw it is considred they are lying abaout everything else?? any advice welcome. i haveno support and am doing this alone afraid and exhusted thenks

The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.

Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;
"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"
than their opinions
"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.

I do sympathise: my caree is in much the same boat with CFS and all. In fact, if I hadn't known that she can't get online I'd have been wondering if you were her! I'm afraid these PIP reports often seem to bear no resemblance to reality as the claimant recalls it - a fact I'm rapidly learning. You are not alone.
When doing your mandatory reconsideration, you need to make sure that you correct all the Health Professional's statements which are incorrect, or give a misleading impression of your condition, even if it's only from what they haven't said ("Yes, I can do X, but only if ...). Can you get help from Citizen's Advice Bureau, welfare support or similar? It sounds as though it would be useful to have someone with a bit of distance look at your situation. (Do the ME Assocation or Action for ME offer anything? Actually, I should be researching that for my own case)
With a bit of luck and a sympathetic decision maker, you may get a better result with your mandatory reconsideration. On the other hand, "invisible" illnesses such as ME/CFS are not the easiest ones to get a positive decision on, and it may need to go further.
Best of luck.
