free road tax was created by Sushy
I was on DLA and got middle rate care and high rate mobility until I received the PIP decision on Friday telling me I have standard rate care and my mobility has been disallowed complete!y!
Please,....Can anyone tell me if my road tax will end when my DLA ends on 19 March 2019? Or will it continue until the date it runs out??
Currently I have my own car but depend on my mobility component to keep my car on the road , my MOT is due and it's not looking good!!! so I will be totally floored from this date if I have to pay out any extra money for road tax.
Thank you for any advice you can give me.

I'm afraid I cannot give you a definitive answer, the DVLA has made no public statement as to how a claimant's Road Tax is affected when their entitlement is reduced or removed, so you need to contact them to see what they say in regard to your specific circumstances.

You do need to be aware that if your car is not properly taxed then it may invalidate your insurance.

i just called the DWP regarding my free road tax entitlement . my PIP transfer date is 19 March and has disallowed the mobility component..
a nice young lady actually called me back after i explained that as first line staff, they might prefer to have this info to hand..she will also take it up with her team leader about informing claimants that they will be driving illegally without road tax should they not get mobility renewed.
The onus is on me to " go to the Post office with my car documents so they can notify the DVLA that you now need to apply for road tax."
great stress for people at their most vulnerable! i will be more or less housebound so id better get cracking before i cant afford to run my car when the mobility component runs out....and i cant walk to the post office myself.
