Dear B&W

DLA Vs PIP ? Light Touch or Kick into Touch?
Re the today 5.3.2019 pending Amber Rudd MP announcement that
" Pensioners (the now age is 65+1/4 for SP) will be spared repeat assessments and the "light touch" phrase..
What will be the situation for persons born after 1948 so now close to 71 and between 65+ and 71 who have not yet been transferred over from DLA to PIP.
Noting the cut off DLA date was date of Birth April 2013.

What will happen DLA recipients in that group are pensioners though not transferred over to PIP ( due to in part DWP slow process of 6 years transferring and still not done)

I know of persons quite recently well into 60s and more than 1 has had the biggest trouble with transferring over to PIP from DLA and losing award and having to go to appeal lasting up to 18 months the process and without the benefit during this period. The assessment reports did not match the conditions of the persons.

Thank you for answer very much.

Dear B&W Another Anomaly Alert

I got to thinking about A Rudd DWP speech of a week ago 5/3/2019

Re Pension Age person and PIP, though not those on DLA, and then I found this:
a bit out of date though interesting:
assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governm...g-people-over-65.pdf

It would appear that persons getting to 65 in 2013 to 2015 were are around 206, 000
working on that basis for around the years 2016 to 2018 there could be another 206,000
the A Rudd speech said that 270 000 have been transferred over so it could well be and now 2019 that barely half of the "older" persons 270 000 have been transferred over from DLA to PIP:
It does seem that the DWP Ms Rudd is creating yet another new anomaly and as PIP is a working age benefit, it would be "kinder" to leave older person pensioners now on DLA as 65 year olds were in 2013 , and of course none of the now pensioners would be below 65+
To me it would seem the speech was a ruse another one.

Thank you
