Today my initial PIP claim letter arrived, dated 28th February, asking to ring them by 28th March if wish to claim PIP with NI no. etc So when I do ring them , they’ll then post out the huge PIP claim form ? Many Thanks , J

Yes, once you ring them to start your claim you will be sent the PIP2, How My Disabilities Affect Me form.
The PIP Claim guide covers what questions you will be asked when you start the claim.

Hi Gordon,
Just read through some of your PIP claim form
See W and B don’t advise getting current supporting evidence from hospital consultant, my only previous medical supporting evidence, was written by my GP, sometime in 2012. Awarded LRC indefinite.
But the RA has definitely worsened over these past 3 years, despite the medication, and the new Jak Inhibitor - Baricitinib, failed to work end of last year, ( proven by ultrasound ), gave me shingles ( one of the highest side effects ), and gained 10 kilos in the 3 months ! ( history of anorexia nervosa ), So consultant immediately took me off it , due to shingles. Due to see Rheumy April, rang today to chase up —- as want to ask them ( whomever I see ), to write me supporting evidence. Not keen to try another Biologic , due risking weight gain. Research stands, not all, but some shall gain weight.
My question is - is any current medical supporting evidence not required to enclose with PIP claim form?
Further, is it best to wait 2 weeks before ringing for the PIP claim form to be posted out - hence giving me more time to gather supporting medical evidence ?
Many Thanks,
J

I'm not sure where you have read that you should not get current supporting evidence, our advice is the opposite, you most certainly should.
Waiting to make the call will give you more time but don't leave it to the last day.

The GP whom wrote an excellent report on my lack of grip and fatigue ( 2012 ) , has since moved to a different surgery within our town - so if DWP wish to contact him ?
Plus write to Rheumy consultant asking whether he can write a medical report today and post it to myself ( can read and photocopy i) before deciding whether to submit.
Many Thanks, J

If the GP is no longer at your surgery then even if the DWP contact them they are not going to be able to respond.
If your Consultant is happy to write a report then I would take them up on it.
