Attendance Allowance (eligibility question)

Is there a requirement that a year must have elapsed since the end of having had DLA, before someone becomes eligible for Attendance Allowance?
I can find no reference to such an eligibility criteria, even on the government's website, despite the DWP claiming it exists....
The DWP seem oddly determined to shift an application for AA over to being a new application for PIP -- despite their own (state retirement) age limit which rules out PIP anyway.

I'm not aware of any required period between a DLA and AA claim, although you do have to have to have had your care needs for six months for AA.

Bit more information, thanks to having spoken with a local disability adviser who had already found more about what is going on.
Guidance on all of the big charity/disability websites re Attendance Allowance -- and, afaics, this site as well -- is now *partly* out of date.
Problems have arisen due to the government raising retirement and PIP ages...
Implementation is, it would seem, at present patchy and where Attendance Allowance is concerned even the government's own website does not seem to have been updated such as to be consistent with the DWP's present agenda. Situation is basically that some AA claims are being automatically shunted over to their PIP section instead.
