Oh my goodness I have just phoned my Council offices and have been told that from April 19 I will go from having 100% Council Tax Support to Zero % Council Tax Support ... because I have over £6,000 in savings which is now the maximum? He also informed me this is a government decision and it cannot be appealed against Has anyone else any info on this please? It just seems criminal that you can be eligible for 100% and then in the next breath it's all stripped away !!
I'm sorry but we don't advise on Council Tax Support on the forum but as far as I am aware the rules for this are set by the individual council not central government, however, this may be moot if your council has set the savings limit as £6000.
