In this edition we highlight the DWP’s promise that most new PIP claimants nearing state pension age will receive an ongoing award with just a light-touch review after 10 years.
can you tell me how near pension age is refers to please?

It's not about how near you are to pension age, the important date is when any reassessment following an award would be made, if that is after you reach State Retirement Age then you should receive an On-Going award.
