Pip assessment tomorrow was created by AR2019
Hi
I’ve read the guides but I’m still really nervous about the assessment tomorrow. Is there anything that I need to be aware of? I think I read in one of the guides I should ask for a copy (?) of the assessment there and then. To be fair I’ve done lots of reading to prepare the forms so it’s all a jumble. If anything this whole process is awful for everybody, I’m currently on dla transferring pip. After reading others with similar conditions I dislike how it seems to come to chance whether you are awarded.

HI AR2019

No, you can't ask for a copy of the assessment there and then because they do not complete it until after the assessment is over. You can ring several days after your assessment and ask for a copy. Can take up to ten days to arrive.

It shouldn't be, but you're right there is an element of luck especially in the assessor you get. Try to stay as calm as you're able to and answer the questions as well as you can, but don't worry if you don't remember everything - no one does. It isn't a test. They're just trying to get the clearest picture they can how your condition/s affects your daily living. Best of luck.

Thanks BIS
The step by step guide mentions that you have to sign a summary (?) also what sort of examination will they do? I really hope I get a doctor someone who at least may have awareness of my condition.

You may need to sign in for security purposes but that will be it.

If they do an examination then it is usually a very basic physical one, range of joint movement and grip strength.

With respect to BIS, and not wanting to alarm AR2019, I think that my Assessor was NOT trying to get a clear picture but was looking for ways to minimise my condition - similarly with the DWP in their original letter, denying PIP, then in their Mandatory Reconsideration notice, then in their response to my appeal, then in their response to my Further Evidence which I submitted after submitting my appeal. (DWP ruling overturned by Tribunal)
So, I would say to AR2019, lay it on thick. Do not hold back when describing how your condition affects you. Don't lie to them, of course, but make sure that they realise you are up against it so that they understand you really do qualify.
Good luck (but I hope you won't need it)
Sincerely, Ian R

I doubt you will get a doctor so, as I mentioned in my previous posting, make sure the Assessor is FULLY aware of your condition and STRESS how it affects you.
Sincerely
IanR
