Identify verification? was created by Devon idil
Hi
I am in the early stages of applying for PIP, I currently have a DLA award of indefinite high mobility, middle care.
Last Friday on the fly completed the 15 minutes telephone interview, I was advised PIP claim forms would be sent.
Yesterday I received a letter from PIP requesting I verify my nationality, by sending original passport or birth certificate.
Seems a little off to me, so my question is does this happen regularly?
Would appreciate any information.
My worry is I have given incorrect information on phone interview, as I have brain damage from hempatic encephalitis & get confused whilst stressed.

It is definitely unusual and not something I would expect for someone with a DLA award although the rules are different.
The claim form will not be sent until you have provided identification information that they have requested,

Hi
Many Thanks for your response.
I’m convinced it’s something I’ve said☹️
However we have sent the documents off to them, taken photos to time & date stamp them, we will see what happens next..!
Worrying though ☹️
