PIP f2f question was created by magdelena
For anyone who has had the f2f,
in the f2f assessment does the HP ask questions in the order they appear in on the PIP2 form? ie Daily Living through to Mobility? Or do they pose questions at random?
Also what kind of physical tests can we expect?
(My partner was assessed by ATOS a few years ago but I can’t recall what tests they did).
I’d appreciate any insight as I’m trying to help my partner mentally prepare himself. The anxiety is exacerbating his Parkinson’s symptoms and I’m hoping to calm them a little.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Magdelena
The topic of the questions generally come in the order that they appear on the form. but it does depend on the assessor, and what information you have already given, and anything that they may want to clarify. I was asked a question about medication right at the end - even though that comes at the beginning. I don't think it was done to try and trick me - merely that the assessor had forgotten the need to clarify something.
If you look through the PIP guide there is a list of the type of questions the assessor may ask. This is not an exhaustive list and they sometimes ask a question which is only relevant to the claimant eg about a job they held in the past.
The physical tests again vary simply because of different medical conditions. Things, like standing up and sitting down, is common. I was asked to show how hard I could grip but that was all. Your partner can refuse to do a physical test if it would cause him too much distress or pain and discomfort, but it's best to explain why.
