New member! Read all the guides. I still can't grasp the mobility questions and reliability.
I cannot walk more than 20 metres. How long would I need to be unable to repeat this walk to justify ticking the box? For instance if it would take a 30 minute rest before I could walk 20 metres again does this count as a tick in this box?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

There's no defined wait time, certainly, 30 minutes on a 20m walk would be more than enough.

One calculation you could make is to look at one of the other reliability criteria, being able to complete an activity in more than twice the time that a healthy person would, so it the total time for the 1st 20m plus the rest plus the 2nd 20m is more than twice the time that a healthy person would take to walk 40m then you starting to get into the right area.

However, and this is a big however, assessors and DMs regularly fail to apply the reliability criteria effectively or even at all and you are setting yourself up to be assessed as being able to walk 40m, not the 20m you are aiming for, so be aware of this and explain in considerable detail how you are restricted.
