move using an aid or appliance was created by riget
Hi, under moving around b: and e: says either aided or unaided where d: says using an aid or appliance, so if I use an aid and appliance can I only score b or e and not d.

Thanks.

It's not that black and white.

The first thing you need to consider is the distance you can reliably walk and then see how this fits with the Descriptors.

Descriptor (e) has a different distance so let's take it out of the discussion and just look at 20m to 50m. So if you can walk this distance reliably without an aid then you would meet (c) and score 8 points, however, if you can only walk the distance reliably with the use of an aid then you would meet (d) and score 10 points.

I can't walk unaided which is why I never mentioned (c) what I want to know is why is (d) worded differently.

If the wording for (d) was the same as (b) and (e) then there would be no need for (c).

Hi, so this thread doesn't apply to me now as I've just got the assessors report and she recommended (e), I was sure the way she was asking about me being able to walk more than 20metres I would get less.
I'll reply though as (c) means someone with a prosthetic leg cannot get 8pts, and (d) sounds like someone with a prosthetic leg who also needs other aids to walk cannot get 10pts.

Thanks.
