Recording PIP assessment & 1 other question URGENT

Hi,
My PIP assessment is on Weds morning.
1- I was going to record it (I bought 2 cheap tape recorders) but the equipment is a pile of xxxxx and the sound quality is so awful it's unusable.
Could I use 2 mobile phones and send them their file straight away in front of the assessor? Sound quality is usually very good on mobile phones (I use that to record research interviews)
2- I occasionally self-harm: can they ask to see evidence of it? I am extremely worried about that aspect because it's so personal.
Many thanks,
Anna

Hi A

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

1. Recording equipment - I am afraid you are not allowed to use digital recorders such as the phone to record as they could be altered before you send them off. You may not want to spend any more money but if you attach two individual speakers you may get better quality.

2. Regarding self-harm evidence - I cannot say they will not ask, but they shouldn't ask (and I think it's unlikely). However, if they do you are under no obligation to show them and you just politely refuse.

Hi A

I think BIS means microphones not speakers :)

You can get plug-in external microphones from Currys/PC World for £4.99 each. They improve the quality. I used them with 2 Bush cassette recorders and the recordings were good.

Hi Firstly very good luck for Wednesday.

When you have a moment please:

Is it the B..h? Brand you purchased for audio recording available in a well known High Street called Arg.s?
They are the only brand and availability I know on the high street thanks
I do not purchase on line.

Best wishes and Good Luck again
