This (DLA to) PIP application dates from summer 2018, and we have an appeal starting shortly. If that doesn't go anywhere and we have to start again from scratch with a new application, does that mean that my caree has to wave goodbye to any chance of getting back any PIP payments for the period summer 2018 to whenever we start the new application? Or can the new application be backdated to when her DLA stopped?
If your PIP appeal fails then your claim for PIP comes to an end. If you then decide to put in a new application for PIP which is successful it will start from the time of the award date. It cannot be backdated to your previous claim.
