Hello Currently do not claim ESA but do claim PIP. My area is now a UC area. I am currently still working. If I find I am unable to work can I claim ESA (CB) even though I live in a UC area. Many thanks Jane
You can claim claim 'New Style' ESA if your SSP entitlement has run out or you are not in employment which is payable for 12 months if you are placed in the worl-related activity group. If you are placed in the support group, the time limit does not apply and you will continue to receive 'new style' or contributory ESA for as long as you meet the qualifying conditions.
