PIP Renewal was created by nessa_E
Hi,
I am currently in receipt of PIP enhanced care and mobility. I am also in the support group for ESA. I got a 3 year PIP award that runs until May 2020. I have read most people receive their renewal a year in advance, but I am yet to hear anything. I was wondering how far in advance other site users had experienced?
I am very anxious about enquiring with the DWP in case it is sent out. It took two years fighting to get my support in place, and with the state of the system, I am pretty prepared to have to go through it all again so I am hoping to stretch it out as much as possible. My concern is it lapsing or stopping and I have not heard anything.
I also never hear from the ESA. My situation has not changed, but I have never been asked for a reassessment for that, or heard from anybody bar the occasional letter updating me on payments.
Have I slipped through the cracks? Should I be doing something?
Thank you in advance.

thirty
The DWP has recently reduced the period to six months rather than the year they had been previously using. If you have not been contacted four months in advance then you should contact the DWP yourself although I would be surprised if you need to.

Thanks Gordon.
I’ll keep an eye out and contact them late Feb if I don’t hear anything.

Hi Gordon do you know if any pensioners on the forum have had notification from the DWP as to how often they will need to be assessed for ongoing PiP I did hear that it would be every 10 years with a soft none face to face assessment in between.

An On-Going award means no reassessment, subject to no Change being notifed, for at least ten years.
The first On-Going awards were made in 2013 so it won't be until 2023 that they come up for review, so it is wait and see.
