Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

You don't have to provide detailed reasons on the SSCS1 just Good Reason for the appeal, there is a completed form in the MR & Appeal Submissions document in the PIP area. Once your form is accepted you can start to think about what testimony and evidence you might want to include in your submission although I would wait for the DWPs before you submit your own.

I am in the same boat.My mandatory reconsideration came back with the same decision I had disagreed about. My GP and Consultant told me to see welfare rights. Both said in their experiences those who had welfare rights onboard for the tribunal were successful.Problem is i cant get an appointment with welfare rights until a few days after my month deadline! That sent me into panic. However reading this thread am i right in thinking the online form isnt in detail its more to let them know I disagree with the MR decision and wish to appeal? So therefore I could get that done and sent on time then at the welfare rights appointment get the help I need for the appeal?

Yes, all you are doing at the moment is making the request, providing you do not opt for a Paper hearing where there are constraints on your providing more information then you will have until two weeks before the hearing to provide additional testimony and evidence.

Thank you. So if I opt for a paper based hearing how long do I get to send any extra evidence once I submit my appeal?

Because a Paper hearing is held without notice, you are given one month from the date of the letter that will accompany the DWP's submission for the Tribunal Service to receive all of the information that you want the panel to consider.
