Carers allowance was created by Gaffer147
Hi,after being awarded pip (enhanced daily living and standard mobility) a couple of months ago,a friend of mine suggested that my partner should apply for carers allowance, she works 12 hours a week, but, somebody says that I should be careful of this, because the dwp might take off, some of my other benefits off,and that may result in actually being worse off, please could you help me in this, as I am really confused... I am currently on Esa support group ( contribution based) thankyou

Carers Allowance can affect Income Related ESA but if you are only receiving ESA(CB) then it won't.

Your partner needs to be able to provide a minimum of 35 hours of care a week and their earnings must be less than £123 a week after tax, national insurance and expenses.
