17 days for claim to arrive - no award given was created by Jaki B
The Royal Mail took 17 days to post the claim, it had been sent 5 days before the due date, so should have arrived on time. Got the brown envelope and due to the late arrival, through no fault of my husband, was not awarded any PIP at all.
The worst thing is that his DLA will be stopped on 1st October and will have a drop on effect on my carers allowance - that will probably will be stopped too
I phoned the DWP and queried this by a case worker, who then said she would put it straight to a "specialist team", which I can only think to mean that it has gone to mandatory reconsideration?
If this turns out not in my husband's favour, can we go to the tribunial?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I assume you did not send this using a Tracked post, did you get a Certificate of Posting?
Yes, if the Decision is not revised at the MR stage then you can carry on to appeal but be aware that there are long waits across most of the country for PIP hearings.
