Do DWP ask for a GP report for PIP was created by Cocacola
Looking at asking for a mandatory reconsideration. The information used in the report is only the information on the claim form and at the assessment and what the HP has considered.
DWP have told me that there was no request from my GP about my health conditions. I thought it was standard practice to ask GP for a health report as they are the ones who know you best?
I have requested a copy of my health records for the past 9 months rom my GP practice.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

There is no legal requirement for the Assessment Providers to contact the claimant's GP and the rarely do. See

Our GP family member tells me that the GP doesn't tend to know the sort of thing about a patient which the DWP ask about, so they aren't necessarily the best-placed to comment. That said, a confirmation as to what conditions you are suffering from would surely be useful.
