can anyone tell me if they have had a decision after submitting a Renewal form? Did you have to have a face to face interview?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
It is possible for a Paper Based Review to be done but it will depend on the information contained in and with your renewal for, have you been able to source up to date information from your GP or another medical person providing you with support?

Hello Gordon. Our son refuses any contact with medical people and has only seen our GP once in the last 2 years due to increased anxiety and depression. His meds were doubled in dose. This was the first time the GP met him and so she's clueless as to how his autism affects him daily. I have his original diagnosis, the OT assessment that confirms that he has severe motor impairment 5th percentile. He no longer is under the care of CAMHS. I do have a copy of his Disabled Student Grant that confirms his difficulties and the support he requires in college. That was dated 2017. All his reports state that he is unlikely to change in any significant way but they are dated 2011 when we applied for DLA, in 2015 he then went onto PIP until March 2020 - this was a paper based assessment as they were informed that face to face would cause him significant psychological distress

Mrs T
I am afraid you will struggle to get a PBR without up to date medical evidence, assessors and Decision Makers are ever hopeful that mental health issues will improve with time so current information can be critical.
I understand your problem if your son is refusing to see anybody but those assessing him tend not to be flexible with this.
What would happen if he was required to attend a face to face?

I’ve got autism - one time I had a paper based review and once a face to face - even with a letter from my go and psych saying it would not be good for me mentally . There is no real guessing what the DWP will say or do.

Hi Ellen
Would your doctor be willing to write a letter asking for a paper-based review, saying that it would cause overwhelming psychological distress if he had a f2f? It might be worth trying, especially if they emphaize the increase in his medication. The issue I think you will have difficulty is that he attends or attended college in 2017 so if he has support there, but is able to attend - they would easily argue with support he could attend at f2f. (I'm not suggesting it's the same - just how they may view it).
