Hi Lee-J

I am sorry about the loss of your husband.

Have you got anyone who can attend the face to face with you? I can't tell you not to worry, because I know you're going to and I can't pretend it's not an ordeal. However, you can look through our guide and the types of questions you will be asked. If you have someone you can practice those with then do so. And I should read through the notes that you sent at least a couple of times before your assessment date.

If you haven't already you could seek advice from the Citizen's Advice Bureau and or Shelter/ about your housing situation.

Hi Lee-J

Be aware that your daughter will only be allowed to talk on your behalf if the assessor allows it. The assessors generally want to hear from the claimant, even if you have great difficulty in speaking. If your daughter is seen to try and talk without permission, the assessor may judge that you are not taking part in the assessment and they will end it. I am talking worst-case scenario here - but your daughter needs to be aware.
