health and work programme was created by N Lewiston
My mother, on whom I rely for support as an unpaid carer/PA/supporter etc. receives universal credit although she works part time.
She had an accident which has affected her health and ability to work.
She completed a health assessment interview in April and is still waiting for a decision.
She very recently had an accident at work and has been advised by the GP not to work, although she wants to return next month.
A job coach has told her she must attend a health and work programme.
I watched my mothers health seriously decline when she attended a work programme before; she got nothing from it, inc. no consideration of her supportive role as a carer, no reasonable adjustments for her health needs.
She has instructed the work coach that she wants to appeal the decision to attend.
She has tried to find guidance from the DWP website, she only found; long term unemployed (i.e.two years on UC) exclusions; the potential participant is in paid employment.
Advice please.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

This is not an appealable Decision but if she is sanctioned then that would be.

She needs to discuss her health issues with her JC+ advisor, they do not have access to this information on her computer record, just that a WCA has been carried out, I assume this is what you mean by a "health assessment interview".

The following is the DWP guidance for Work Related activities
