I applied for PIP for my 16 year old daughter. She has been on DLA since she was 2. PIP form 2 received by DWP on 22nd August. On 3rd September I received a phone call from a nurse saying that they would be doing a home assessment and should have an appointment through in the next 7 to 10 days. They wouldn't have to speak to my daughter, just look at her in her bedroom and confirm her ID. I received a letter a few days later from Capita just saying who they were etc. I have not yet had an appointment through. I phoned DWP last week and they just said it had been referred to Capita for assessment.
Could Capita have changed their mind and they could now do a paper based assessment? I really don't know whether to ring Capita or not. My daughter has autism, severe anxiety, CFS and lung disease. She doesn't leave the house and doesn't even engage with family.
The only way you will know what is going on is to ring Capita. They may have decided to do a paper-based assessment. If they have decided to do so - they should have informed you but communication from them is not always as good as it should be.
