SCS1 Form for PIP Appeal for PIP Tribunal was created by peggy2
Hi all at Benefits and work,
I have not been on for a while been back in hospital and my Partner as suffered further set backs with his progressive chronic illnesses and disabilities he is due another operation soon.
Before PIP he was dla high-rate care and mobility indefinite awards. His case was made complex late 2016 after Atos report, it was full of errors and even the Assessor giving her advice that he would improve at 2yrs..Hence the a Light touch review in September 2018... It took over 6months for decision.. We challanged that decision and now have a mandatory reconsideration decision which is also full of errors.. In one part of it they refer to my partner as her and a doctor and diagnoses that is not even relevant to my partner. They do not change there decision. Basically he needs two the full 12 points for mobility, thety have left him at 10.
We are furious, but anger gets you nowhere in this except very poorly or in our case heart attacks! Sorry to go on basically what i need to ask is the following
1. Does anyone have a copy or link to the SSCS1 form as it is not downloading from the government website..
2. If i cannot complete all sections at the moment(my computer as packed up i need to retrieve docments from memory sticks)! Can i forward copies of that information and our mandatory information and medical supporting information separately?
3. We are searching with the help of family support for a welfare benefits solicitor in the Northwest area do you know of any way we can find a
welfare benefit solicitor?
If we find support /represestation can we notify the Tribunal at a later date of any or not representing my partner!?
Our deadline to Appeal tne mandatory reconsideration is approx five days away. Which is the best guide to go through on here to help me complete Appeal.
Thankyou
Meg

I had no problem downloading the form but if you still are then you can make an online request for the appeal, see
www.gov.uk/appeal-benefit-decision/submit-appeal
Your request does not have to be detailed you can provide basic reasons for the appeal and provide more detailed ones once the request is accepted and preferably once you have received the DWP's submission.
The following is a list of lawyers who specialise in benefit appeals
www.gov.uk/government/publications/direc...-legal-aid-providers
You can add them as a Representative later in the appeal if you need to.
All of our PIP appeal documents and guides are in the PIP area.

Hi Gordon
Thankyou so much for the information and links. I think i was worried about how to get the PIP Appeal in for Tribunal before deadline. Your words gave reassurance.
Its good to know I can send further information as you advised. Also giving more time to try and find welfare benefit solicitor. I believe that through Atos incompetences and dwp's my partners case is in a total mess, its mixed up and full of errors, hopefully with the link you kindly supplied I can find a welfare benefit solicitor to help. Atos and dwp have seemed to have definitely missed all vital supporting information. Hopefully we will find the legal representation.
I will go through the PIP guides. Thank you
Once again thank you Gordon and everyone who helps with the benefit and work website I remain very grateful and thankful that this website and support still exists.
Bestest wishes to all

Thanks, Gordon. I downloaded it as well: it's a huge document and difficult to navigate (I had to delete all the other subject columns apart from benefits to be able to move around in it at all), but there are very few firms on the list who actually deal with welfare at all, and they do appear to be concentrated in certain regions of the country, often ones perceived as less well-off.

I managed to print off a copy of the scs1 form with my sisters help! i think its 7 pages.. Its strange if you want to complete on line and save and take your time to complete it prompts to click on a different link, which emails you a massive link that you have to click on and click on.. To be truthful i personally did not trust that link and my sister printed off a copy of the form instead which we will complete and send guarantee next day delivery.. in the week to meet its 12th deadline.
I think the other link is although maybe helpful to some, its frustrating as it highlights what little representation ill/disabled have in the whole complex process and appeal and representation. Some areas across uk have welfare advice support and some areas dont, some have charities which my support form filling some dont, alot of areas have CAB which again is a bit hit and miss to the level of support and representation received and waiting times to be helped. Finding a welfare benefit solicitor is even more difficult and they are far and few between again due to government cut backs for legal representation!
I found welfare benefit solicitor but they only take cases referred by charity organisation.
Thankfully we all have the benefitandworkwebsite full of step to step guides and a forum full knowledgeable information. We know we are not alone and we must keep trying to eventually we are allocated the points that somehow fit or match or allow us us a award of the disability benefits to meet are illnesses/disabilities...
So yes Alsop I agree help is not easy to find. Thats why Atos can boast they have only 1% complaints.
..I think we all must find the strenghth somehow to write complaints to dwp, atos mp''s... I also sometimes often worder if a number of personnel injury cliams should be put to government...Its probably much more easier to locate a personal injury solicitor! I believe the hardest part would be proving that the disability benefit changes and process the government introduced caused your condition to worsen, also extra suffering, injury, distress..and financial hardship.
It would not surprise me if some cases have already been started for personal injury or more in the future. This is only my opinion. But for now I am going to help support my partner for pip tribunal and try to locate the best support, like many i do not believe it should have come to this or he should be put through this, he is soon to go in hospital again.
I will try and keep you all posted and also on his tribunal outcome..thankyou for the guidance.
