PIP Cancelling a Mandatory Reconsideration was created by aprilthorn
Hello everyone,
I received the result of my Medical assessment for PIP from DLA on 2nd October '19. This was sent out from DWP on the 25th September. I received enhanced rate for care which I also had with DLA. My Mobility however was reduced from enhanced to standard.

Being upset at this result I telephoned and asked for a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) on that same day, 2 Oct, which has been confirmed by text message.

However, I am so very ill and stressed about all this now and fear my care award will be reduced by the DWP and all I want to do is cancel my request for the MR and get on with my life.
My question dear people is: Can I cancel my request for MR and if so how do I go about it.

Hi Rosie

Yes you can cancel your MR. Just ring up the DWP (the number is on your decision letter) and tell them you no longer want to proceed with it. When you have done that, follow up with a letter in writing. There should be no problem with this.
