PIP - Audio recording letter of request?

Morning again.

I would like to request that I need any F2F to be recorded. I’ve not even finished my PIP-2 questionnaire and I am already worrying about ‘The Spanish Inquisition’ I know from experience that I will become so distressed at being somewhere I don’t know, to meet someone I don’t know that I will be unable to participate fully in the F2F and I certainly will not remember either the questions or my answers to the questions. Should I write a separate letter, in with my PIP-2 questionnaire requesting an audio recording because of my difficulties?

Thanks again
Sue

Hi Sue C C

You do have to put in a request to record your PIP assessment - but you can do this on your form. You do not have to explain why you want to record.

The assessment providers do not record assessments - it is up to you to do so and provide the equipment.

Recording PIP assessments
It needs to be made to two tapes or CDs simultaneously.

You cannot use a digital recorder such as a mobile phone.

A member has reported problems if the media is not new, so make sure that the tapes or CDs are still shrink-wrapped and opened in the presence of the assessor.

You need to give one of the recordings to the assessor.

Most members have used two relatively cheap cassette recorders, check that they record without a problem, some have used external microphones.
