Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Susan
You can read about what happens at a face to face assessment from the link below
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...e-medical-assessment
And you can read about the sort of questions you may be asked at the assessment
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...r-medical-assessment
The assessor does not ask or have the right to see any part of your home other than the place where you have the assessment.
If you are able to have someone with you to take notes - that would be a good idea.

I had my home visit about a month ago now, and it wasn't as traumatic as I was expecting. I had my mother with me for mine and although she didn't say much she was able to add a few things that had slipped my mind.

I also live alone - if you can, have someone with you. Someone who knows you well and can add info that you might forget.Susan wrote: Hi I am new to this forum....so sorry if I posted a couple of the same queries....I have my home visit assessment on 24th of October 2019 @ 9-11 am....I live on my own can anyone give me advise please thanks Susan

Hi yes I did have a friend as a witness and also to take notes however the home assessment was cancelled..on the morning what I am trying to establish is can I still request for a home visit even after they have stated that I now need to visit a building assessment centre after the fact that they has looked at my case and sanctioned a home visit .....I am waiting for a phone call from a manager from IAS to explain why...I think it could well be...
of the safety aspect as I have Bi -Polar but also have Fibromyagia & Ostio arthritis. Surly they knew that on the PIP form my query is why wait until the day & time of the assessment for them to ring & cancel yes...staffing maybe an issue but why now insist I go to an assessment centre?

I was under the impression that they could ask me to perform tasks such as how I get into bed how I make a cup of tea...witness my AIDS & Adaptatins ...
