Hello everyone I am just looking for some advice. I am currently in the process of filing out the pip2 form on behalf my daughter who has hydrocephalus and moderate learning difficulties which has led to her having a high cognitive impairment. I have been reading that if or when my daughter is called for a f2f assessment I should request for a cognitive and mental health champion as they will have a better understanding of her cognitive impairment. She is 16 years and I am her appointee. I just want to know if anyone as requested a mental champion before or had an. Assessment with one. Thanks. Keto mum

The only reference to a "cognitive and mental health champion" that I am aware of is in relation to ESA and some JC+ staff, I've not heard the phrase used for PIP. Some conditions are supposed to be assessed by a doctor but I don't know if Hydrocephalus is one of them.

Thanks so much for the reply I got the suggestion from the hydrocephalus and spina bifida website. That if someone has hydrocephalus they can request for someone who is more knowledgable on cognitive impairment. Thought I would just ask to see if anyone has had that experience. Thanks again
