DWP/Digital images of claimants

I recently read - via an email from this site - that DWP staff are working, largely in secret, on creating “digital images” of claimants using information from a wide range of bodies, including private credit reference agencies, the police, the Valuation Office Agency, the Land Registry and the National Fraud Initiative.

Please could you elaborate and explain what kind of info the DWP could obtain from the police and credit reference agencies about a claimant? How could this info benefit the DWP or be used against a claimant?
