ESA and change of circumstances was created by Millie73
Hello
I am on ESA (based on my National Insurance Conribution). I am in the Support Group and receive the Disability Income Guarantee. Currently I am living on my own with my son with a view to my son's father moving in in the New Year. With regard to tax credits he would be considered my partner. I am wondering whether having a partner will affect my ESA. Many thanks, Millie

Millie
The Disability Income Guarantee means that you are receiving and Income Related ESA top-up to your Contribution Based ESA, this top-up may be affected by your partner moving in with you.
ESA(IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See
Asset and savings rule for ESA(IR)
24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)
