Completing the AR1 form answering 'no change'

Hi, I am in receipt of the standard daily living rate of PIP with my award currently scheduled to end in September this year. I have been sent the AR1 Award review form for PIP. The original return date was 11 April but this was extended so I now have until 1 June. I have been extremely worried about this and spending much of my day gathering information as opposed to actually writing and sending the form. As I gathered information I thought of more and more things to include in my submssion in terms of changes to the ways that my conditions affect my everyday life. I have diagnoses of aspergers syndrome, anxiety disorder with OCD and body dysmorphic disorder.

I attended the webinar that you did this afternoon on coronavirus changes to PIP. What caught my attention was the comment that "only those who make a new claim or register a change in circumstances are getting assessed by telephone". Face to face assessments are, I am assuming, on hold for the foreseeable future. If I was assessed I would prefer if it was face to face. Based on this information (and that I am happy with the current level of my award) should I fill in my form with each answer simply stating "no change". Will this help me to avoid being assessed over the phone? If I include the right supporting evidence from the health professionals who support me am I then likely to either have my award extended without needing an assessment, or to have a face to face assessment when those restart (and thus avoiding the chance of a telephone assessment). Many thanks for your help.

I'm afraid there is no "formula" for completing the AR1 that will allow you to control what type of assessment might be needed, in all honesty, you should concentrate on ensuring that your award is renewed.

Our PIP Claim guide covers completing the AR1 and discusses some of the issues that the form raises.
