Hi Nanny

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Have a look through our comprehensive PIP guide and see if you answered the questions fully enough in the first place.

You should contact DWP and request a copy of the assessors report, at the same time ask if a decision has been made.

Once you know the answer to the above question, if it is adverse then the next stage would be to apply for a mandatory reconsideration.

Come back to the forum if you need further advice.

hi Nanny, once I got the text I phoned and asked for the report. The actual decision probably won’t come for weeks, last time it was 12 week (2018) but at least having read the report I knew what the result would likely be. I would rather know what the Assessor thought than wait for the decision letter, at least you can prepare if it’s not what you are expecting! Mine was a review, so if you are claiming for the first time, maybe your decision may be quicker!?

Hi, thanks for the reply. At what stage can I ask for the report? Do I have to ask for this or will it be posted?

Hi Nanny

You should contact the DWP for a copy of the assessment report if you have not already done so, I would phone them but again follow up the request in writing. We usually say give them 48 hours before requesting a copy of your report.

We have heard on the forum members being told that they cannot have a copy, don't take no for an answer, you do have a right to see your report.
