Hi Jamie
People do ring the DWP and inform them that their situation has deteriorated. This is known as a 'change of circumstances.' This will trigger a reassessment. (Currently being done over the telephone or paper-based) Some members have reported a positive outcome.

I have but some 5 years ago now. My mobility deteriorated after my first assessment. I had to have another assessment and they really dragged their feet in making the decision. (Just under 6 months). They called to clarify a few things after 5 and a half months; and i got the feeling that they bestowed the higher rate very reluctantly.
