PIP REVIEW DUE was created by taylor
Good morning,
My current PIP award is due to be reviewed in April 2023.
I understand awards can be looked at a year before the review end date that I was given. I have not been contacted by the DWP with regards to this yet.
How long should I wait until I contact them about the review ?
Kind Regards.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Taylor
As you have said, awards can be reviewed up to a year before the due date, but that doesn't happen to everyone, especially when they already have such a backlog. You can either wait to hear from the DWP or ring and request the form some time before if you haven't heard and you're worried about it. There is no specific time - but personally, I wouldn't leave it any later than three months to go.

Hi Taylor,
Was your PIP awarded via tribunal or normal award?
If it was tribunal then you possibly won,t get a review form sent automatically, you will have to apply for a new award. You will have to request it yourself.
If it was a straightforward award (not awarded tribunal) then you should get a renewal form about 6 -12 months before yours runs out., I would keep an eye on it though and not just assume they will send it. They are very much behind at the moment so wouldn't want you to be forgotten.
Hope makes sense
