Hi paul
Earning of less than £139 a week or less do not affect carer's allowance.
Occupational and personal pensions count as earnings for child dependant additions, but not for the basic rate of carer's allowance.

Hi Paul,
Carer’s Allowance is not means tested but there is an earnings limit in any one week. This is £139 net.
A private pension is NOT counted as earnings so receipt of this won't affect receipt of CA.
However, you can't claim normal state pension and CA.
(CA is a working age benefit only.)
I hope this helps.
