PIP is due to be reassessed was created by Anniesmum
Hello,
My PIP claim is due to be reassessed in August 2026. Do you think if the new changes come in I will
be reassessed as a new claimant? I won’t score the 4 points on the new rule changes. I’m worried this will mean I will lose eligibility for ESA support group aswell. Sorry I know none of this is set in stone. I’m just worrying about everything. Thanks

Hi Anniesmum
We can't say what will happen until any of the proposals have been confirmed. As it stands now, if you are due to be reassessed for PIP in August 2026, you are likely to receive a form anytime from August 2025.
We can't currently say what will happen if people lose their PIP daily living, and what impact that could have on their eligibility for the support group.

*My reading* is that if you are on ESA CB/New you will retain your Support Group element until they bring in the new ‘Insurance’ thing they mooted (which will be time limited, probably 12 months). So you have respite until then.
If you are on ESA IR you will have to move to UC this year.
