Changes to PIP was created by Harishah
I have just read your news article dated 25/04/2025 stating that people over state pension age will "not be affected by the proposed changes to PIP.
Although this is good news, I am personally worried about these changes will affect me when my review is due.
I was awarded enhanced rates in both the daily living and mobility. In the daily living I scored 4 points in 4 descriptors. My award is for an ongoing period staring from 2023 and to be reviewed in 2033.
My state pension age is 67 years, and I reach that in 2028 which is five years before the due review.
I am therefore confused what is "assurance" from the minister means for me, and claimants in a similar situation to me, in that will my award still be reviewed in 2033 because this new rule starts in 2026 and I have not reached state pension age then. If this the case, then it is extremely worrying that there is a potential for me loose the 4 points awarded depending on who assesses me at the time of the review!
Can someone please clarify this dilemma affecting me and others in a similar situation where they have ongoing awards but just a couple years to go before reaching state pension age and these proposed changes become law in 2026.
Regards

Hi Harishah
You said that you have read the article in the newsletter. In that article, Steve says that some things are still unclear - and so, at the moment, we are unable to confirm what the minister's assurance means for you or anyone else in a similar position. As announcements are made, Steve will report on them.
