Planned PIP changes

Planned PIP changes was created by Geordielad880
I contacted my local MP and numerous other people including Stephen Timms, and received a standard email response from my local MP, I included all my concerns about the proposed changes, and my personal story, and the fact that I have undergone a recent health assessment and despite my numerous complex medical issues and high daily living needs didn't score 4 points on any descriptors, so under new rules wouldn't receive daily living element, health UC element or have a carer anymore, and that I couldn't survive without a carer, and it would essentially be a death sentence for me.
I was furious that I received a generic response spouting how they were increasing support etc, and to complete the consultation survey, I wrote another email in response, regarding the deeply flawed survey, her disregard for my personal situation, how much the whole process has affected my physical and mental health, and the fact I wasn't satisfied with the response, and I would be contacting local newspapers, news outlets etc with my personal situation as an example of how, if I don't qualify under the new proposed rules despite my significant health conditions and daily needs, it shows how many people will be affected, will suffer significant damage, suicide, poverty etc.
To my surprise I have received a response from my MP, this time personalised, asking to meet face to face, to discuss planned changes, and my current situation and any other things I could need support with.
I honestly don't know what to think of the response, I haven't really had much to do with Mps previously, but I'm more than happy to engage with her, doubt she will be remotely interested in my personal claim, it will be purely to outline proposed changes.
She kept spouting the 4 point rule won't affect you until review, and yours is currently 3 years, yeah but you have to report changes of circumstances, and my daily living was awarded at standard, and points were miles away from what I should have received, and my conditions are progressive and life limiting, and so therefore I would have to report ongoing changes, so it's unlikely to be 3 years anyway. I'm currently working on my Mandatory reconsideration before I lodge that, god knows what the outcome of that will be, one thing for sure I won't give up, if I have to go to tribunal I'm more than happy to, I see it as not just my fight, but a fight for all the people suffering at the expense of DWP.
It will be interesting to see how it goes when I meet the MP, hopefully arrange something soon.
Has anyone got experience of similar with Mps? Can they be helpful, or is it just simply box ticking?

Hi Geordielad880

Congratulations on getting a response. I don't think this is just a tick box exercise - otherwise I think you would have just received a standard letter.

The best of luck with it.
